ATVs
Multi-use rail trails such as the Frontenac K&P Trail and the Tay-Havelock Trail have special appeal to ATV users, providing a safe way to explore the Frontenac region and connecting many of our local communities. These trails are shared with hikers, cyclists, equestrians and other users, so ATVs are expected to yield to others on the route.
The Verona District ATV Club welcome motorized visitors to our region and can provide advice for trip planning, accommodations, fuel stops and other amenities. Every spring and fall, nearly 1,000 people participate in the Ompah Community Volunteer Association ATV Wilderness Rides.
While permits are not required to ride the Frontenac K&P Trail, connecting trails may require a use permit from the Ontario Federation of ATV Clubs or the Eastern Ontario Trails Alliance.
Snowmobiles
The Lennox and Addington Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club is one of the most active in Frontenac. The club grooms the Frontenac K&P Trail from Orser Road to Tichborne, in addition to other local trails. The Snow Road Snowmobile Club manages over 470 km of trail including those in North Frontenac. Both clubs respect landowners, the environment and prioritize family recreation and safety.
In order to ride on the snowmobile trails in Ontario, a permit from the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs is required.
